You will only have access to classes offered for your specific level (depending on enrollment, some levels’ classes may be combined). We may consider on-site level changes only on a case-by-case basis, depending on space and registration.

Individual dancers must be present at check in to receive their bands. Parents and teachers may NOT check in for dancers. Group Leaders (with groups of 10 or more) will pick up bands for all dancers in their group at the Group Check-in table.

Pre-purchased observer bands can be picked up at Observer Will Call and additional observer bands (if available) will be sold at Observer Sales.

The Welcome!
There’s always great energy in the air as everyone comes together to kickoff our exciting PULSE weekend together! Our staff and directors will greet you and introduce our PULSE Faculty (and any possible special guests!). We will update you on any last-minute news and brief you on your weekend schedule. This time is only for paid participants and parents who have an observer wristband.SHOP PULSE!
The Welcome: Saturday 9:30am

Dress Code
There is no dress code for The PULSE - come as you are! Most dancers wear hip-hop clothes, sweats, or tighter-fitting outfits for contemporary classes. Please be mindful of your age when choosing your outfit. We encourage age appropriate dance attire! Also, remember you will be dancing on carpet, so bring several dance shoe options such as jazz shoes, sneakers, dance paws, knee socks or whatever you feel comfortable in. Be sure to pick up the hottest PULSE gear to wear in class!

Opening NumberProteges
All registered PULSE dancers are invited to participate! Learn a piece choreographed by our Elite Advanced Pro Protégés, Pauline Mata and Alonzo Chester. This number will open our PULSE Performance Showcase on Saturday, November 6th. Dancers performing in The Opening Number must arrive on Friday, November 5th by 6:00pm for check in and mandatory rehearsal. If you would still like to add this option to your account, please contact Krysha.

The Opening Number: $60 performance fee per dancer (please note, space is limited and will sell out)

Rehearsal Schedule:
Friday, December 10th: 7:00pm
Saturday, December 11th: 8:00am

Costume:
Shirt provided by Sugar & Bruno on-site. Bring colored, funky jeans, leggings or shorts. Also bring colored accessories (bracelets that won’t fly off, necklaces that won’t be distracting, bandanas, wristbands, socks, etc.) and colorful tennis shoes.

Perform!

Showcase
The PULSE Performance Showcase is an opportunity for studios to perform a routine from home in front of The PULSE Faculty. It will also feature our Opening Number featuring select PULSE dancers (sign up now!) and our PULSE Sponsor Fashion Show. The showcase is held Saturday, December 11th at 7:30pm in the main ballroom and is open to everyone to watch. Come cheer for your fellow dancers! No wristband necessary.

*Space is still available! Bring your group!

Showcase Performers: If you have questions about the performance, contact Christina. You will receive a separate email with showcase call time and dressing room details. VIDEOTAPING is NOT allowed at The PULSE Performance Showcase.

PULSE Performance Showcase: Saturday 7:30pmm

Photoshoot
We know The PULSE Faculty is hard to catch in between classes for photos so we have designed a great system ensuring that all dancers can have a PULSE photo in a timely and organized fashion! This is the only time we will host a group photo session with the faculty throughout the workshop. In order for this opportunity to run smoothly, we ask that you abide by the procedure created by the staff and faculty.Photoshoot

• Following The PULSE Performance Showcase on Saturday evening, we will ask you to gather by a designated sign in the main ballroom. Groups of 10 or more will have studio signs arranged alphabetically, then small groups, and individual dancers will line up behind them. This helps us get the large groups out of the way first.
• The Faculty will be seated together on a couch and groups of dancers will approach and pose for their photo! Our professional photographers from ProPix will snap the picture, and dancers will exit out the opposite side. You will also be able to use your personal cameras, though we move very fast -- snap when you can!
• If you are an individual dancer or small group, we ask that you form a group of at least five friends. There will be no individual photos taken due to limited time.
• Your PULSE ProPix photos will be available for purchase at the ProPix Vendor Booth during the day on Sunday.

Our PULSE Faculty Photo Shoot is a well-oiled machine and moves quickly and efficiently! Please cooperate and follow our PULSE Staff’s directions.

PULSE Faculty Photo Shoot is Saturday evening following our PULSE Performance Showcase. If you want to take your photo, but do not plan to watch the performance—that’s ok! Come to the ballroom just before the showcase is over.

To make sure you get the most out of your PULSE weekend, we’ve integrated your scholarship opportunities into your PULSE classes! Auditioning is not required at The PULSE, however we encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity. You will have the option of wearing a scholarship number during your classes all weekend. These numbers will be picked up at check in. The PULSE Faculty loves choosing dancers that catch their eye in class!

Last year we proudly awarded over $30,000 in scholarships at each city! Our scholarships include “PULSE Protégés,” Broadway Dance Center Class scholarships, The PULSE Convention scholarships, Teacher Workshop scholarships, PULSE Summer partial and full scholarships, sponsor scholarships, and MORE!

Scholarships are our favorite way to show our support for you and dance education and we’re happy to bring you the opportunity in a stress free way. Just have fun! We will announce our scholarship winners on Sunday evening after our PULSE Uncensored. If you have to leave before the scholarship ceremony but would like to know if you won a scholarship, contact Victoria! You have ONE WEEK to redeem your scholarship. Failure to do so will result in immediate expiration of your scholarship.
The PULSE Schloarship Ceremony: Sunday 3:30pm

PULSE Uncensored
We know you want to hear what the faculty has to say! The PULSE Uncensored is an open floor Q & A session where you can ask The PULSE Faculty questions about the industry, their training, or making it in "the biz!" It's a great time to get to know our faculty and always provides an entertaining and inspiring end to the weekend. Start thinking about your questions now!
The PULSE Uncensored: Sunday 3:30pm

Education is our number one goal at The PULSE and we know it’s your number one goal at your studios too! One of our favorite parts of being on tour is meeting and hosting dance educators, teachers, and instructors from across the country. We value and appreciate every one of you and the work you do; we want to make sure you get the most out of your weekend as a teacher at our event. Teachers

Registering as a teacher at The PULSE allows access into all levels and classes. We also planned a few special events just for you:

Teacher Welcome Reception
Our PULSE Staff welcomes you by hosting this casual meet and greet on Friday evening. Check in to the hotel, drop your bags, and swing by for a glass of wine with your fellow dance educators. A great way to kick off your exciting weekend of dance!
Teacher Welcome Reception: Friday 7:30pm

Teacher Talk
We invite teachers to join our PULSE Directors, Pam Chancey and Mary Andreasen for an open floor Q & A session. Ask any questions you may have about your students, your studio, The PULSE, or the dance world. We will go over last-minute updates for the weekend, and the schedule!
Teacher Talk: Saturday 1:30pm

Creative Connect
Group leaders and teachers are invited for this sit-down luncheon on Sunday with The PULSE Faculty. This is an open floor forum and chance for you to connect on a casual, personal level with our faculty. This is also an opportunity for you to ask for feedback if you had a piece in our PULSE Performance Showcase. Please remember that time is limited and we may not get to everyone’s questions. For this reason, we ask that you be specific and have questions or thoughts ready for them. Anyone interested in attending Creative Connect must have a GOLD All Access Band or a BLACK Studio Management band.
Creative Connect: Sunday 11:15am

Teacher Class
Don't miss this private class with one of the most respected and sought-after choreographers in the business today! This is a closed class- you must have an All Access band to enter. This class is one of the most talked about experiences at The PULSE!
Teacher Class: Saturday 12:30pm

Are You A Group Leader?
If you've registered for the PULSE with a group of 10 or more dancers, we have a few special treats just for you! Your group packet will be ready for you at check in! Upon check-in, you will receive your very own Group Leader goodie bag. In addition, all groups of 10+ receive a PULSE Plaque for your studio!

Photos
A big thank you to all of our PULSE Parents! We know you have several choices when it comes to your child’s dance education and we’re so glad you’ve chosen The PULSE. It takes a lot of planning, time, and money to support young dancers and travel to dance workshops and we want to make sure your weekend is as meaningful as your dancer’s.

Parent Chat
Join our Directors, Pam Chancey and Mary Andreasen, for a coffee chat (and maybe even a treat or two!) and Q & A. They love hearing your feedback, taking your questions, and giving advice for you and your young dancers. No wristband required!
Parent Chat: Saturday 10:30am

Observer Bands
We know you want to support your dancers and get a first hand view of what they are learning at The PULSE. All general workshop classes can be viewed by purchasing an observer band. It’s important to us to preserve the quality, focus, and energy of a consummate learning atmosphere for our faculty and dancers. For this reason we limit the amount of observers allowed in the room and we request observers to follow a few simple guidelines and rules. *

Pre-registration is strongly suggested as observer bands often sell out. You may purchase or add observer bands to your online registration up until Tuesday, November 30th. If available, observer bands will be sold on-site at both check ins (CASH ONLY). Pro-rated pricing is available for observers arriving after 1pm on Sunday. This band is not available for pre-purchase and will only be available if space permits.

*All observer bands are non-refundable and may not be transferred from one person to another. The PULSE is not responsible for lost or stolen bands. Noise level and activity should be kept to a minimum out of consideration for the faculty and dancers. No cell phones, talking, videotaping, or note taking. Please do not bring your child's lunch into the observation area, speak on your cell phones, allow your cell phones to ring, or chat loudly with fellow observers. Also please note, you must be accompanying a dancer to observe.

Breaks, Shopping, Payment
Lunch Options
Our goal is to keep you dancing all day, so we keep your lunch breaks short. We'll host a quick “cash and carry” lunch in the area outside the ballrooms. Please do not bring in any outside food into the ballrooms.

Payment options
All registration sales, as well as our PULSE retail, will accept cash. Retail will also accept credit card payment (MasterCard or Visa only).

On-site shopping
The PULSE hosts the hottest vendors in dance wear and dance gear including Capezio, NappyTabs, Sugar & Bruno, and Tia’s Dancewear! Take a break and do some shopping! Also check out the PULSE Merchandise --T-shirts, socks, dance pants, basketball shorts, and more!

This event is too exciting not to capture on film! ProPix professional photographers will be onsite all weekend, so be sure to check out the photos of yourselves to purchase. You are also welcome to use your personal still cameras throughout the workshop. There will be no videotaping permitted at the showcase or in any PULSE workshop classes.
